The Prince

Regal, beautiful, sympathetic, and under pressure. The Prince is meant to exemplify both leadership and servitude, nobility and humility. Everyone wants something from them and they’re expected to require nothing in return.

The Prince’s core mechanic is their Obligations to others and giving the people they help the Condition grateful. Obligations are favors and requests that are garnered through giving the Prince Strings. Fulfilling these Obligations gives the Prince social leverage and makes them even more attractive, drawing in more requests for their support. The grateful Condition increases the Prince’s ability to help or just interact with those they’ve already helped.

Most of the Prince’s moves are either about helping others or the pressure they feel to do so. The more Obligations they have, the more they have to do and yet this increases their chances of getting aid from someone else. The Prince must carefully balance their tasks lest they burn out before they can fully rise.
