Gender in Joseon Society

A note on gender: Joseon Society switches from the collaborative question in Good Society about having gender dynamics on, off, or reversed, to having them either followe certain time periods' cultural expectations or making up your own rules. Why this difference? It's because of the strong gender divide of Neo-Confucian Joseon.

In Regency England, men and women could still socialize under various circumstances. This was nearly impossible in Joseon for non-family, with children separated by gender at a very young age (about six to eight). The differences in how men and women were treated are so integral to society that simply saying "on" or "off" felt too simplistic for Joseon Society. Therefore, there are four options: three historical or semi-historical, and one to do whatever you want! (I'd love to see a game where men are the ones who can't walk around by themselves)

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
